Paradise Kennel Alicante Spain

Paradise Kennels is based on the East Coast of Spain between Murcia and Alicante and is run by Colleen and Peter Jay.

Dedication, passion and enthusiasm are just some of the words you would associate with Colleen and Peter. They have been working closely with animals now for over twenty years and have experience of looking after all animals. When they were based in Ireland they had a donkey sanctuary for twelve years and it was there that they also looked after monkeys, pot bellied pigs, dogs, cats and horses. They appeared on national television in Ireland, such was the interest in their dedicated work. Now days it is dogs and cats who they work closely with in their beautiful custom made kennels, which include a large play area and even a pool for the dogs! They do tremendous work in Spain including regularly rescuing street dogs and also dogs who have been left on the streets to die by owners who no longer want them. They have so far successfully re-homed over 500 homeless dogs in Spain and all the costs to look after these rescue dogs is paid for themselves. The one thing that struck me when I met Colleen and Peter was that animals are their passion. Those in their care are treated like part of the family and for people who need somewhere for their pet to stay, this is of paramount importance.
